Polo

View all 5 photos...
Yesterday I chauffered at a polo match, in which Prince Charles (the heir to the throne, not the rapper) was playing. Here's some pics...

I like Audis.

It must be a bugger handing the keys back at the end of the job

San: in the first pic, PC is the one in the middle with his back to the camera.
Rob: yes it is a bugger handing the keys back, coupled with relief that I managed to drive the thing all day without bending it!!

I have the good fortune to have a part-time job as a chauffeur, driving famous people and "celebs" around in luxurious cars (Audi A8's, to be precise). I say "good fortune" because it's good fun, reasonably well paid, and I get to meet some interesting people! Here's a few of the passengers I've driven...

Sorry, being from over here on the wrong continent, I didn't know any of those people. And while I did check out the lovely ladies, and Lily is my fave, the Audi really turns me on. I should get a sweet part time job like yours! Then again, this city, in this state, in this part of the country, isn't blessed with many visits by the rich and famous.... Tue 8-Nov-2005 19:55

Meet my Tame Tarantula

Don't think I've ever put any pics of my tarantula on here. Say hello to Octavia...
She's around 20 years old, and I've had her for about 18 years. She eats crickets and locusts, and lives in an aquarium in my kitchen!

Fine Lady Update

The Banbury Guardian, in their infinite wisdom, published a supplement on the new 'Fine Lady' statue in Banbury, featuring the crowds watching the event Wednesday before last. Guess who got in the picture...

L to R: Rocket, Rio, Louie, Widget, Reuben
on the move...

Getting all five of my dogs to sit simultaneously and look the same way is a near-impossible task. These shots are the closest I've managed - the first two were snapped within 2 seconds, which was the length of time they actually stayed put before Louie and Rio wandered off!!
The last pic is a wonderful old moss and lichen covered felled tree that lies in a dell near the Giant's Caves.

Casper and his friend Henry came round this evening to help me move an old mattress, amongst other things. Henry, of course, was a great help. Casper, on the other hand, did absolutely sweet FA, except to polish off the last of my gin.
Fortunately best friend/ex boss and all-round good egg Lorne turned up with a fresh supply...

Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross...

Before...
Princess Anne
The statue revealed...
View all 6 photos...
Banbury is famous for its Banbury Cross, of nursery rhyme fame. Today Princess Anne unveiled a statue of the the "Fine Lady on a White Horse" alongside the Cross. This has caused some controversy locally - a lot of people think the considerable sum of money spent on this could have been better spent on Other Things.
The office where I work just happens to overlook the Cross and the new statue, so my colleagues and I had a cracking view of it all! The attached pics aren't much cop, owing to the limitations of my rather basic camera, but you get the general idea.
