Barbecue

Went to a barbecue last night, hosted by one of the solicitors I work with. He lives on a hill outside Banbury with spectacular views - it was a hot, sultry evening with a beautiful sunset and great food. The storm started about 5 minutes after the last guest had left, apparently!

Birthday Party

INTERESTING ONLY TO MEMBERS OF MY IMMEDIATE FAMILY! (although everyone is welcome to look, obviously!)
When I was a kid, my entire family lived within a few miles of one another, and we got together fairly regularly. Nowadays we are all scattered around the country, and only seem to meet up for 'significant' family occasions: weddings, christenings, and birthday parties (only the 'landmark' ones).
Last weekend we all converged on Stoke on Trent to celebrate my Aunty Gill's 75th birthday at a place called Trentham Gardens.
Casper and I arrived late - having gone up the wrong motorway and consequently a VERY long way round!  However we were still in time for the meal.
Sadly my poor Aunty tripped and fell very heavily on the stone floor of the restaurant, broke her wrist and was carted off to hospital about an hour into the proceedings, which broke up the party.
Here a few pics which I managed to take before the accident.
PS I should add, she was fine after visiting hospital and in spite of having her arm in a cast, was well enough to travel and is currently visiting my mum in the south of France!
